To enhance the teachers’ ability to make lesson plans, ensure the percentage of standard lesson plans and integrate ideological and political theory education into current lessons, JLUSPS invited Professor Wu Yuntao, education and teaching supervisor of Jilin University to give a lecture on problems in making lesson plans and solutions on March 26. Professor Wu gave a problem-oriented presentation on how to make a good lesson plan by explaining key elements of plan design and how they are interconnected and showing good and poorly-done cases. Meanwhile, he employed the deep teaching theory to explain how to better integrate ideological and political theory education into specialized courses. Professor Wu emphasized that students should always be the subject of teaching objectives and focus should be placed on design, structure and research to make standard lesson plans. Teachers were advised to highlight instructional design as well as ideological and political theory elements to achieve teaching objectives.

Dean Ma Jie attended the lecture and thanked Professor Wu on behalf of the School for his constant attention and support to JLUSPS. Deputy Dean Guan Qingxiang, Deputy Dean Wang Yi, Deputy Dean Cao Xia and 28 teacher representatives joined the event. The teachers said that the lesson plan design strategies introduced by Professor Wu were practical and useful. They therefore had a better understanding of making lesson plans and gained confidence in offering better classes.
